As a marine biologist who focuses on sharks, she has become acutely aware of how a lot of art depicts sharks and their relatives (the skates, rays, and chimaeras) as animals we should fear. Many people don't stop to look at their sheer beauty. This shop aims to do that. What started out as stress relief has become a bit of a hobby of hers, studying pictures of the unique patterns of these animals and bringing it to life via digital watercolor art. Márquez has kept it minimalistic and simple, her kind of style. Each item comes with a description of the animal, and more of these animals can be learned on The Fins United Initiative's "Bite Blog" by searching the animal by name.
